What to expect when buying a home.

First, determine your housing needs.  Your buyers agent will have many questions for you regarding what you are looking for in a home.  It is a good idea to have some ready answers for these questions.  This will help our agents serve you better, and faster. 

Second, secure the finances.  It is a good idea to be pre-qualified for your finances from a lending company.  Ask your agent for a mortgage checklist.  This is a list of things you will need to bring with you to be qualified for financing.  There is a mortgage calculator on this website.

Do not be afraid to make an offer on any home you think may fit your needs.  Making an offer is a means of expressing interest to a seller, and does not bond you into a purchase. 

Closings and costs.  There are several costs associated with closing on a property.  These costs are negotiated between the buyer and the seller at the time of closing.  Your agent will help you negotiate these costs with the seller.
